These are of Maraton, FL in 62. Also, of Watson Island in 61? where my Grandfather and my Aunt took a Whirlybird up and took photos... Also, the neighbors (I''ve researched and they were from Ohio) that were next to my Grandfather. The one with the black Buick is in 62 near Kutztown, PA. Enjoy!

Rob, in the book AIRSTREAM the history of the land yacht page 31 shows the Airstream rally formation Florida coast 1960 from the air. It seems to match the Watson Island picture, even down to the light poles in the back ground. i broke out the big eyes and think if I look long enought I might macth up the units.
The photo posted below is the best that I have been able to find showing the 1964 Overlander. In this photo, I am the eight-year-old leading the pony. The original owners of the Overlander often came to visit my family's farm, and this photo was taken during one of their visits. This was a little over four years after they had taken me on my first camping trip in the Overlander -- it would be nearly three decades before I acquired the Overlander without realizing that it was THIS trailer.

Roger, was the 69 Tradewind (?) the one that got away from y'all when your folks were towing it?
Yes, that is the one that we put on its' side in Arizona. The '71 was purchased with the insurance settlement.
The home base for the bulk of these photos was Thousand Oaks, CA (southern California) but notice there are not many California pictures. My dad LOVED to travel!

Duh, how did I miss the link the first time around? That's what I get for scrolling too fast. Those are awesome! Where were the beach photos taken?
Recalling some of this information is a bit difficult for me. Do you see the small little boy in some of the photos? That was me. I wasn't TOO concerned with those issues.
Anyway, it depends upon the definition of a beach. I think the photos with the orange enclosed awning were Death Valley. The photos with sand and palm trees were most likely the Florida Keys. The one with us ON the beach was Daytona.
I will have to look at the slides and see what my dad wrote on them. I will update the web page with the captions if there are any.
