looking to buy

Hi, we have always wanted to buy an airstream trailer. We need some general info. We are looking at one, think it is a '71. How do we find out what model it is? Think it is like 32' long, real nice inside, anything special we should check for, would really like to buy this, finally at stage where we can. Any info would be gratelly appreciated. Thanks

If the coach is a '71, it is likely classed as a 31' as that was the longest model at that time. The series would be Sovereign, and it could be a Land Yacht (basic series) or International (premim series).

To get an idea of some areas to check out a Vintage coach, you might want to check out the site below:

You can learn more about the weights and lengths for various model year Airstreams at:

Airstream RV Weights and Measures

The coach's model name is usually found on a badge that is often located near the entrance door of the coach. The VIN also gives a number of clues regarding the model and configuration of the coach. The VIN is typically in one of two places on the coach - - on a plaque near the entry door - - or on a plaque below the front window near the LP tanks.

Good luck with your inspection and research!
