King size bed

Anybody out there missing there king size bed. I love my 30’ classic but I’m just an average size guy and I struggle to keep my feet on the bed. Why can’t AS come up with a floor plan with at least a longer queen size bed??🤷🏼*♂️

A queen size bed is the same in length as a King.

Some trailer size queen beds are less than 80 in long. I had the same issue so I put a regular size queen foam mattress, rounded the corners as needed and it works. The end of the bed overhangs the base but it isn't a problem. Mattress is cheaper too.

Airstream use a “short queen” mattress. It’s 75 inches long.

Great question OP. So, there were two "must haves" my wife had before we made the move to full timing in our RV: 1) Wanted a washer/dryer in unit and 2) Would accommodate our king Tempurpedic mattress. We purchased an Arctic Fox 5th-wheel that met those two points and provided us much more. Now, that's our "home base".

In our AS we opted for twin beds (27"FBT) for the storage and space. We LOVE it but every time we get back "home" we appreciate our king bed.

We put a standard 80” queen mattress in our FC25FB. It fits in the 8’6” east-west bedroom. This is the exact reason we chose the 25’ over a 27’. We did not round the corners or add to the base and it works for us.
