Try out the propane-fired furnace.

If they have sufficient shore power, try out the heat pump / air conditioner. If you have ducted AC, check every air vent to see that they are all moving air. If they don't have sufficient shore power, ask them to get some.

Just a note with turning on that furnace when checking out your Airstream: we used our furnace for the first time last weekend (first time camping in this Airstream in below freezing temps), and I woke up to a burning smell, with the smoke detector going off shortly after. The smell dissipated after an hour or so, but it had me worried. After doing a quick search on the forums, it seems this happens with first-time furnace use.

I have a quick question for the sterling owners. My wall in the bed room came apart from the corner. It looks like it is just pin nailed on trim piece. This wall carries the weight of TV so it appears it is a weak design? Any one else have this issue or any ideas for work around. Not to worried as it is under warranty but i dont want them to just put more nails in it!
Thanks

I'm not sure what your talking about here. A few pictures would for sure help. Your correct nails will pull out again but screws and little Gorilla glue just might work. Good luck with your repairs.

Hello Again
Any Sterling owners have issues with the back wall in the bedroom where the TV hangs. Ours has become separated. It appears it was just pin nailed and the weight of the TV pulled the wall out. Was thinking of re nailing with some glue?

Hey June bug! This thread is so helpful. I still don't have a sense about how many Sterlings are out there, do you? We just put a deposit on a 2013 27FB Sterling! We are so excited. I like the violet flooring, although I haven't seen it in person. We are taking about 10 months to travel while waiting for a house to be built and will be living full time in it. I have a feeling at the end of the journey I will be sick of the floor!

Welcome ewor. The Sterling decor is very upscale, special. I have a feeling you will like it quite well. And if you don't, new floor coverings are not all that hard to do.

It is exciting to join the Airstream community, and you are going to get indoctrinated big time in your 10 months in the trailer. Maybe you can stay 4 weeks in 10 different places in the beautiful country of ours. I believe your new Airstream will serve you well.

Post a picture of the interior of your new trailer when you take delivery.

David

Our question is: How many Sterling owners are out there? We rarely see or hear anything about them here on the Forum, so...are there 10 of us, or a hundred? Somebody speak up!

Hi Junebug!
I've been looking for other Sterling owners and just came across this thread. We have a 2013 27FB Sterling with the Obsidian Violet floor and love it.
Anyway, I looked at your blog. It's great!
Where did you find the Airstream collapsible fire pit? It's awesome!
Thanks!

I'm so glad you checked out JuneBugJourneys.com!

We bought the Airstream collapsible fire pit at the factory gift shop. It came with a little tote bag and collapses down flat. Isn't it beautiful??

Becky
