No 29' Liner on this website.

Spotty observations suggest the longest trailers, which had low production numbers, retained superceded features for a greater period of time than the more popular and better selling mid length and shorter trailers.

We are fortunate to have beginning and ending serial numbers for some Airstream model years, obtained from industry publications. I have no idea whether Airstream even used engineering drawings to build trailers in the 1950s, where such detail might have been recorded. My uninformed guess would be that trailers were built from collective experience instead of "blue prints". Old internal serial number records, if they exist, might note a change in model length at a certain serial number, but I've never seen any such records.

The recent interest in and restoration of vintage Airstreams has created a thirst for engineering and production details that manufacturers and trailerites of the 1950's would have found astounding and wholly unexpected. Answers to many questions will have to be gathered and ascertained from field observations. We may be able to narrow in on the time of change when someone finds slightly later 1954 30' Liner with a sloped rear end and post its serial number. But I'm not holding my breath until then.
Fred, you have been a big help! I was going to change my profile to a 1954 29' Liner, however that option does not exist? Who can add that model and year? Now that I know what trailer I purchased, I hate to misrepresent the facts! I am going to bed!
