Help identify this trailer
I saw this trailer when I was dumping my tanks this weekend in the White Mountains of Arizona. It looked to be around 16 feet or maybe a little longer. The tag on the trailer said Santa Fe Springs, CA and the serial number is 16-4139. It has seven roof segments.

I could be wrong, but my vote would be for a late '58, early '59 18 footer... Wanderer, or Traveller (they're all the same). I've got one in the yard, in fact!

I don't think it is that old. The early 50's have too may segments.

Richard-
Very cool trailer. It is a Calf. 16 ft for sure and I would say it is a Flying Cloud. Post it up with the FC threads.

Flying Clouds are all 21 or 22 feet long.
The rear end to me says 1960 Pacer, but the serial number is wrong if it is.

I examined this same trailer and found it to be a '59 Traveler, at least I'm quite certain. Unless, Fred, the club historian tells me different, I'm sticking to my guns. Whatever it is, I want it.

I saw it first, but you have room for it now! The people you pay to use the dump station where it is parked didn't have a clue....

I know, we asked them too. It looked fairly complete inside but no shower. It is definately a CA built unit.

And it is definitely not a 52 Flying Cloud. Wrong back end, wrong number of segments, too short, and very sadly, it's not parked in my yard where I could lavish it with attention.
Geewillickers, the things you find when you go to dump your tanks. So who is going to go rescue this poor little critter? It does look like it needs a loving home.

I swear that looks like some variety of the Spartan vintage. A Royal Spartenette maybe? Camperski here on the forums is familiar with the breed. It sure is pretty . . .

I took another look at the trailer today (it's next to the dump station) and I read the serial number wrong the last time. It is 18-4139. This would make it a 1958 18 footer, California built.

I know its a Spartan
Check the website Spartantrailers.com
You can find pictures of similiar Spartans, although not in as good of shape as this one. It appears to be one of the earlier models, late 40's to early 50's. Which is good, because it was built of the highest quality. The later Spartans had used cheaper material (plywood floors) in an effort to compete with Airstream. After 1959 Spartan could no longer compete with Airstream who was building these trailers for half the cost.

Hooked on Classics
I love the old Spartans and the trailer in question is an early 1950's model - most likely a '52 or '53 Spartan 30ft Spartanette. The Royal Spartanette was 35ft in length and this one definitely isn't quite that long - I can tell by the number and position of windows on the sides - also the placement of the rear door of the Royal Spartanette is generally found on the same side as the front door. If you check out the For Sale section of vintagecampers.com you will see a needs to be restored version of this exact model. In fact, if you look at the trailers shown on their home page - you will see one that appears to be this same model prior to being polished as it has a dent in the same exact spot as this one. Hope this helps!
