There isn't a difference between a residential range and RV service, unless the yard plug is an obsolete, no longer code compliant, three wire system where the ground and neutral are combined.
I haven't seen one of these systems in a long time. If that's what the OP has, it should be replaced with a compliant 4 wire receptacle.
It wouldn't work with the recommended 4 wire 50a/30a adapters anyway.
