Airstream Crepe restaurant

This Excella was brought in over the weekend in the Grand Central shopping district in Historic Kenwood area of Saint Petersburg, FL. When opened for business, I'll be sure to post pix. Looks like its going to be quite a different kind of restaurant. They've also brought in an old 'bay-window' VW camper-van. Too Cool!

I love crepes. Do you know where they will be selling them from the Airstream?

La Creperia Cafe

Hi,
This restaurant is being set-up in Saint Petersburg, FL. Spoke with owner today, still no opening date, St Pete's Codes department is a total pain to deal with......
Thanks, Derek

Knowing the part of town it's in, it will be a miracle if the Airstream doesn't get stripped for aluminum.

Industrial strength exhaust fan

Am I the only one bothered by what that commercial exhaust fan housing (I assume that's what it is) does to the lines of this AS? or just the only one impolite enough to mention it? IJS

Well, given that it's going to be a restaurant, I imagine that the stack is needed to vent the industrial oven. So, no choice for the owner.

And no, you weren't impolite.

There's a crepe restaurant in an AS in Portland, OR. It was listed on CL for sale for much of last year. Do crepes and AS just go together for some reason?

In that it was listed for sale for much of last year... perhaps not so much.

Would be hard to address handicap code, especially with restroom facilities. I hope they replumbed completely as I wouldn't want try and keep the AS plumbing maintained with industrial use. Normal resturants have problems with grease traps, our Applebee's at the end of our block has a grease track out the back, maybe they can make biofuel for the tow vehicle. :-)

Come to think of it, I have never seen a trailer restaurant (and there are a lot of them around here, mostly french fries) that has a bathroom for clients OR staff.

As far as area of town, with all of the 'newly' rich moving to Kenwood, the Cops make sure to do LOTS to be seen.
The Airstream is on a LARGE lot, with a separate building that will house restrooms, as well as a small kitchen area. Have a feeling that Airstream will be used primarily as a sales area, with a kitchen as well.
I've looked inside of Airstream, completely gutted at the moment.
As well, that MONSTROUS fan housing, required for any and all new restaurants in St Pete. Like I said, dealing with Codes is a ROYAL pain in the A$$.....
Hope to have pix soon of the opening.
Thanks, Derek
