I don't think I have that much money to spend for this table.

Doc, great to see this one going to a loving home! The changes are fabulous and Uwe's work superb.

If Uwe is reading along, I'd really like to know how he finished the edges of the table top pictured back in post 959. Is this one solid piece of wood?? Or a plywood of some sort that he attached those edges to?

Again, great stuff, keep improving on a masterpiece.

Jim

Thanks Jim...we cannot wait till next Friday. The table is maple that has a mitered flame top maple edge around the front and two sides.

I think I may have found a table solution. Our counters are butcher block from Ikea. They are currently on sale for $39. I could make a drop leaf table using less than half of a single counter top and the legs that I can pull off another table. Then I can use the remainder for a nice cutting board at the house.

That's a great idea Steve. Make sure you get the thinnest they have and sharpen your saw! The Bulgarians know how to glue up some dense wood.

Alas they are out of the $39 board in round rock. I could have the $59 top delivered for only $299.00...YES THAT'S RIGHT....Two Hundred and Ninety Nine dollars!

Still looking.

Steve

From experience, when the online store says something is or isn't available at a local store it is about 25% correct. That's cool for going to Ikea RR this weekend. It is right next to Steak & Shake. Invite all your friends. I'm buying lunch for EVERYONE! jk

You've got to be getting excited. Have you planned the first trip?

Rich,

Our first trip is actually to go and get the trailer. We have an 11 hour drive to Deming, NM next Friday to meet up with Uwe. We planned to take two days to get home so we don't push anything.

Outside of that, I was thinking about taking Collin to the Houston Hot Sauce Festival Sept 15-16 (Amy has drill that weekend), and a trip to pleasure pier in Galveston this fall after Labor Day.

Steve

Surely plan to do that Rich. Would be nice if you had your trailer back in running condition before then though. We wanted to stay at Balmorhea State Park on the way home, but it is completely booked up. We will have to make it all the way to South Llano River State Park which is much further instead.

Uwe told me yesterday that he was working on getting the front sofabed completed, dry cleaning the curtains, and getting all the window operators set. I am NOT looking forward to the long drive in a single day out there, but looking forward to downing a few brewskies with the Uwe while learning the systems.

Steve
