There is a trailer on Ebay that is supposed to be an Airstream. It sure looks like an Avion. It has a rear door and although it might be an Airstream, it doesn't have the Airstream windows and this model is supposed to be rare. They said it was only made for two years. Anyone else ever seen one?

That is an Airstream, definately not an Avion. I have seen a couple second door units for special order in the past. The rest of the trailer is typical Airstream.

I have seen a few of these.
They were actually pretty popular up here back in the late 80's. I am not sure about elsewhere around the country.
My father's friend owned the Airstream dealership up here back then. He sold quite a few of them.
I was only in my early 20's but I thought it was so cool that they made a "two door".
It looks to be in nice shape too. The guy that is selling it has sold Airstreams on Ebay before. I am pretty sure they still sell new ones too. I thought it was a dealership near Columbus, OH. Do not quote me though.
My wife stopped by the dealership last week and checked this unit out; it's apparently in very good shape but a bit pricey for an 87. It's on consignment and the seller doesn't seem very interested in negotiating the price. I believe this is the fourth time its been listed on EBay Motors; the last time it topped out at around $15K with reserve not met.
Mid 80's and up with rear corner double bed had front curbside door. The current Classic 25' still has the same arrangement with the exception of the bed which is mounted side to side in the rear rather than streetside rear.

Rare? Most Airstreams with the double bed (instead of twins) have rear doors.
Starting when?
I have a double bed with no rear door.
Come to think of it, where is one of those from the 70's?
Airstreams with rear doors were not available in the 70's. 34 footers were the only thing I ever saw them in from the 80's.
Look it up. Not that common in the older trailers.....
