50-51 flying cloud?

Hi all- I am brand new to this forum so any help is always appreciated! Such good information I have found here! I am the proud new owner of what I believe to be a 50-51 Flying Cloud. It is in rough shape, but has potential. I have been unable to find the Airstream plate that has the serial number and place of manufacture. It has the old pipe frame. Would the number possibly be on stamped on the frame or axle? It is 21 ft, with the oval curved window in the back, 13 panel. I am really excited about it. But like I said, needs lots and lots of TLC..... Any leads on nailing down exactly what I have would be wonderful!

Hi cloud flyer. Welcome aboard and congrats on your "new" Airstream.
You can find photos and serial number info at:
http://www.vintageairstream.com/archives/index.html

Note that the '50 FC had a pipe frame while the '51 FC had a ladder frame.
The s/n should be stamped on the top of either tongue member.

Thanks Rog, for the welcome and for the information on the location of the s/n. The link you attached is terrific!

You're quite welcome, Susan. Post some pics if you can. We Airstream nuts love pictures.
