2008 Safari

The dealer we have selected to purchase our Safari 27' FB SE told me that the factory was moving onto the 2008 model year "any day now". Of course I asked what changes were expected with the new model year (April are you kidding me). He believes the only difference from 07 was a new lino flooring (I will attach image in next post)and the formica's color on the midnight sun scheme was slightly different and unnoticable to the casual observer.

Of course he also told me the 08 would cost an additional $1000 for what amounts to nothing. I have already been soaked on upcharges for different sunbrella fabric on the awnings, CCD aluminum wheels, extra fan, no skylight (thats right they charge you to remove something - someone has to keep the overhead guy with the aluminum saw away from the roof), and lino all the way through instead of carpet in the bed room - no room in my budget or patience for an extra $1000 of pure bottom line margin.

Then I get a mailing from AS with all the new signature series models - Parika, Ocean Breeze, etc listed as 2007 models......Hmmmm.

Just wanted to let you know the 2008's are coming!!!

In-tuh-resting Erik -- Whatcha going to do with the Overlander? FWIW for the rest of the readers, Erik & Sloane did a really cute redecoration on their '68. It'd be fun to have some pictures posted in your photo gallery...

I think the 27' FB has a lot of things going for it, including the fore and aft queen and more closet space. I hear ya on the skylight! We shopped for our 25' FB and saw a skylight -- Minnesota summer day, about 11:00AM -- walked under the closed "insulating" shutter and I couldn't believe the amount of heat radiating downward. There is no lack of light inside these models in the first place. Congratulations -- keep us filled in! 2008 Moraine View, okay?
