I do know she was built May 1964 in Santa Fe Springs california "Specially Built for Warren and Scotty Leisinger".
her old "ghost number" was 11465
Warren and Jessie Leisinger Gardena Ca.

The interior is not so good....

A/C Removal

Well, the first thing I HAD to do is remove the giant, white A/C unit.(by myself)

What a difference !

This is how it should look.

The original vent hole is intact and unmodified.

I do need some vent parts tho....

Are you going to do without AC? Or do something interesting like a basement unit?

Specially Designed For ?

This 1964 Safari has a plate that says:

"This International Land Yacht Specially Designed for Scotty and Warren Leisinger"
Does anyone know what this might mean ? Other than the Obvious.

Its not as if it says "built" but "designed"

and this '64 has a port hole window and glass everwhere !

I want to know more about my new baby...

Also,I notice the rivits on the port hole window and the Hehr above it match exactly,as if they were installed at the same time. Also all the curtain tracks in the trailer match including the one above the port hole window???

Dear Airline,

I have a 1964 Safari 22' I am in process of restoring. You have a very nice AS and good luck with getting her ready for the road.

Airline,

Your Safari is WAAAAY cool. Pics of interior, pls?

Go to the photo archives and check the differences between your Safari and those photos, that might demonstrate the "designed for" differences.

Have fun with her and welcome to the Forum!

The custom designed part is really interesting, as is the porthole. Any other unusual items you've found? I think '64 is a great year for the interior design (I'm biased). Please post more pics and more historic stuff as you find it!
