Land Yacht
Fred is correct. My Caravel has a large Land Yacht plaque just above the Caravel plaque. I didn't show it in the close-up photo of the tags, but you can see it in the pic Fred attached. The interesting thing is, my trailer has a 110v water heater and no signs of a propane unit. I know from research on my other trailer brands, namely my Holiday House's, that 1960-1961 was about when the term "self contained" was being defined and beginning to be heavily marketed.

Odd you should have a propane heater in the floor. I can see the grate in the floor. They were dangerous and maybe someone took it out for you. I made mine into a Wally floor and it works great. The wall heater might be an add on.

The propane heater is still there and that's the only heater in the coach. I need to scare up some new tanks and see what works and what doesn't. The PO said all propane appliances worked five years ago before he parked it.

LOL! I love that statement. Really, Don't use the floor heater. Everything I have read about them is bad. The Princess stove in ours cleaned up nice. Didn't have to worry about the toilet or water heater. Gone.

Interesting...I only see one low profile vent on the roof in one of your photos, what is that venting? Is there a vent for the gas furnace and fridge?

That's for the fridge. There is a sewer vent on the curb side rear.

Yep. The fridge appears to vent up through the wall and out through the LP vent. The furnace is in the floor so no roof vent for that.

Also Interesting, I am just realizing that my '60 18' Traveler has all radiused window trim, while the '60 Caravel 18' windows are square. Is this a difference from CA to OH manufacturing, trim level or???

I believe it's a trim level. The clearview windows came out in 59 I think and were used mainly on the larger more popular Airstreams.

She's official.
Good news. It took me weeks of "people finding" but after searching back three owners in two states I have obtained all the signatures I need to get a new title in my name. This trailer turns out to have last been registered in WA about 20 years ago and it is still on record. The last registered owner was kind enough to sign off on all the required docs. The good: WA only charges $15.50 for a new title. The bad: I should recieve it in 10-12 weeks. Oh well.. Better than nothing at all!

She's for sale.
The Caravel hits ebay tomorrow night. I found another rare jewell so something's got to go. I'm sure it will find a happy new home.
Here's a link to tons of better pics for those who have been interested in this little gem.
