1959 Land Yacht

I'm trying to identify a Craigslist find and the only information given is that it is a 1959 Airstream Land Yacht. From what I understand, Land Yacht is a trim level and not a model. I've been all over Vintage Airstream - Airstream Trailer Resource looking for a photo comparison and came up close but empty handed many times. The listing is here.

Can anyone here help me identify it?

go to airstream factory site, and look under service, and pull up info under trailer specifications.

Kinda looks like a 1959 Tradewind.

Hi benutne:

It looks like a 1959 California built 24' Tradewind, very close to 24T-0114 whose hot link is on the bottom right of the Vintage Airstream photo page linked below.

Ask the seller to look on the small data plate just forward of the door handle and read the numbers stamped into that plate. Those numbers should be the serial number, and the trailer model can then be identified by its serial number on the Vintage Airstream photo site here:

1959 Trade Wind 24' - Vintage Airstream

The seller also might find on the next lower line the month and year of manufacture stamped in the serial number plate. Good luck!

I agree with wkerfoot and 47weewind, that must be a Tradewind.

Man, you guys are good. I did get some pics of the interior but I think the seller might be a little annoyed with me if I asked for the serial. They've been more than accommodating so far.

There are some interior pics. The seller wants $3000. Is it worth that much? Worth fixing up?

Be aware also that if you buy with just a bill of sale and not a clear title the ensueing paperwork can be a real nightmare. might effect your decision on value if you have to invest substantial time and money just to get the title before you actually "own" it.
