05 Model Year

Does anyone know when the 2005 models come out? Also, does anyone have any ideas of what new models / features will be available?

We were at the factory last week and there were '05 trailers on the line. They should be out soon.

The thing of note, they are bringing back the vista windows in the classic trailers. I wasn't able to see how they did the window treatment on a finished unit. But I'm sure it will be very nice.

Are those the rear wrap around window?

At any rate, just to share the thread....if anyone out there picks up one of the 2005s, I started a thread to track the 2005s quality, similar to that of the 2004s. Hopefully, we'll be able to compare the two and identify any trends.

Would someone explain what a "vista" window means? It doesn't mean the wrap around window, does it? Is it a certain manufacture? I've read lots of posts that seem to refer to vista view windows in vintage units as it they are a problem. Just curious. Thanks.

I think I just remembered what they were. Check this out:

I think this is what a vista view is and if I recall, they were problematic in the past (I think it was leaks).

When you look at the photo, it's the top window.

Eric has it right.

Yes they "can" be a problem. In the original incarnation 67-69 they were single pane, in the 70's they became Thermopane glass. This was a window created when Thermopane glass was a "new" product. The seal between the panes would fail and condensation would form in between the panes. They are no more leak prone than any other window as long as they are maintained. Once you have them you will not want to have a unit without. In the Argosy line the glass in the vista views is single pane, so no trouble with fogging, etc.

BTW I have heard some scuttlebutt that the vista views will be coming back in '05 or '06.

vista view windows

If you look carefully at the windows of the Classic trailers, you will see an oval window below the large awning windows on the sides of the trailer. AS has just added this same window above the awning window and called it a vista view. These window are single pane.
