mccrosti- did you see the post back about a month ago on the 20' Minuet for sale in Arkansas? If not, try the search with Argosy and Arkansas in it, it might come up, or look in the for sale forum.

Wanted argosy that is 25' or under, in good condition. We really don't care what year it is. But it needs to be a decent price. And by decent price I mean $7000 and under. If it needs minor work done that's fine. Just as long as we can go camping in it. We will go " fetch" the trailor if necessary as long as you aren't in alaska, hawaii, or over seas.
I have a 1977 Argosy Minuet 6.0 metre (20 ft). It is fully loaded and in very nice condition. Just had it gone over at the RV service center. Has roof AC and everything works. Give me a call if you might be interested 252-904-3238 or email me at rschubauer@netzero.com.
Thanks,
Bob
Bob,I shot you an email about yours. Leigh - thanks for the heads up. I'll check it out. Yesterday, I read about the polishing process for an old airstream - sounds like an incredible amount of work. I just want something that we can hose off - maybe wax once a year - and go!
My wife and I are looking for a smaller argosy. At first we waned an airstream, but feel that a painted coach might be easier to care for (opinions, comments and BS welcome, So an Argosy might just be the coach for us. Question, they seem to be more expensive than your typical Airstream, why is that?
Thanks!!
Dave

Just in case I have not entered the link correctly, go to the Colonial Airstream site http://colonialairstream.com, click enter, click on the inventory tab, then select Pre-owned and you will see a listing for a 1976 26' Airstream Argosy (6,200 Lb. GVWR, VIN#26D6V2153). They have some photos of the trailer and it looks in great shape.
Stay after 1975 and you will have a gray tank, but it will be small.
Just a note I own a 1974 Experimental model Argosy and it has a grey water tank, however no tank monitoring system. All the info you need is in the VIN there are great articles in these here forums on this very topic. the first two digits indicate length, then a letter (T for twin beds and D for Double) then one digit indicating the year, This is followed by a letter (V is for Versaillles, OH plant, and the other I believe is a C for a California plant?) then 4 digits indicating sequential manufacturing number. Mine is 28T4V0053 and this tells me I have a 28 foot Twin built in 1974 in Versailles, OH and was the 53rd trailer in the production series. I hope this helps.
Always look for the not so ordinary, and you usually get a gem.
