Smile Wanted: Airstream 24 ft motorhome

I am new to this forum, found it through an Airstream enthusiast and am very excited to find a good Airstream MH preferably 24ft or 26 ft (did they make them in that size?)
Have been looking already for a few months, purchased all the books I could find, poked the internet but it is hard to find a good one.
My friend owns an Argossy 280 but it is just too long to fit next to my garage so 24ft would be better.
Anyone out there who can be of help? Much appreciated!!!

NO 26 ALTHOUGH THERE IS A 27 (270) >The 24 is the rarest of the old Classic, and not eay to find, though patience may be rewarded. Good luck.

They made a 250 in the mid 80's but those are a rare model indeed. in the early 80's there was a 24...............

I would say the 24 and 25 were few and far between, the 270 was a bit more common and the 280's are only seconded in quantity by the 325/345 models.

If you are wiling to go Argosy there are more in the 24/26 foot range, but you will have to search. We bought a 28 because we figured we would never find exactly what we wanted. Then 18 months later we bought exactly what we wanted. But both were 28 footers.

There is a '20 Argosy in www.rvtraderonline.com in Depot Bay, Oregon. I haven't seen it personally, just saw the ad. You might be interested in looking into it.

Greetings all!
I will have to disagree with Richard.
I have a 1981 Excella 24ft Motorhome.
It was hard to find but it second only to
the 20ft Argosy motorhome.

I just went back and took a look at the listing I found in Europe for a 1992 250 Diesel....

http://www.airstream.de/verkauf_wohn...02_english.htm

What caught my eye this time was that the author claims the vehicle can sleep six. Everything I've ever read said that these slept two and anything more was pushing it. Is/was there a configuration for these that I didn't know about. If so, I'll have to put it in my radar on my search for the perfect AS motorhome.

Happy Airstreaming!!!!

Some 24 footers are still out there, although I would be very careful about paying premium price for something with very high miles on it. These babies can cost you to repair, especially if the engines have never been rebuilt. I almost got one, but my common sense prevailed and I got a great 28'. I'm glad I did b/c the 24 floorplan just wasn't attractive to me. I wanted beds, not 2 sleeper sofas.

I saw a 1991 250 recently, and it had a rear double (could and did sleep 2) with a rear bath! Also had the sleeper sofa which would sleep 2. The cockpit reclining chairs would sleep 2 more in a pinch. That's a total of 6. Maybe one more on the floor, and kick the rest outside in a tent.

See the thread: "Found this 1990 250 in San Francicsco."
