Tons of Transportation

The Cities of Richmond Heights and Maplewood are planning their Second Annual “Tons of Transportation” event for this spring 2004. “Tons of Transportation” will be held on Saturday, May 1, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Deer Creek Park in Maplewood. We will display police cars, fire trucks, dump trucks, boats and much more. Children will be able to touch each vehicle, and climb into the cab and take a seat of some. Last year we had over 600 people attend and love it!

We would love to get you involved in this exciting event by bringing out your airstream. In exchange for your participation you will be listed as a sponsor on all advertising for this event. You are also able to display information or handout flyers the day of the event. If anyone is interested please let me know.
Thanks

Nice idea, but to be honest I don't know if I'd want 600 kids touching and visiting the inside of my Airstream. You might want to consider some vehicles off limits for the touching part.

Take a look at the bottom panels of the Gateway Arch in St. Louis where some folks have chosen to etch their names or other graffiti in the stainless steel. Sort of a shame that some folks consider defacing such a shiney object.

I understand

We had our MH in the event last year and I had the option to be one of the "look but don't touch" vehicles. The event was very well run by the Park & Recreation Department staff.
After the first two or three families came by I decided what the heck...these city kids might never have the opportunity to see the inside of a "real camper". So I sat inside and watched the Cardinals game, answered questions and monitored behavior.

Granted, I do not have $XX,000.00 invested in a brand new AS either.

We will be bringing our MH again this year and I had suggested to the staff to request others on this forum that might be interested in bringing theirs to the event. It would be neat to have a trailer and a MH there...or just other AS enthusiasts stop by and visit.
