Thanx for the reply. Would you have any photos of the trailer? Is it still in towable condition?
Please email me some further details including the price to airstream@kirda.net

Cool curiosity can kill

intending to convert it to a catering unit, selling burritos on music festivals. I hope this kind of use doesn't offend the hard core airstream fans.

Red face

I don't have a problem with it I like burritos. I have actually seen brand new units that had been converted, not sure if they were ordered as a shell and converted somewhere else or done by the AS factory. They were for sale at a AS dealer in SC a while back...even had the flashing signs on top!

Andrej,

6 months ago I saw a shell with a professional kitchen at the RV center in Irvine California. I think it was at the back of the AS dealer or one of the nearby stands. It could still be there as it was not advertised for sale.

My wife and I looked at that particular AIRSTREAM, as I recall, it was a 1971 globetrotter 21', gutted, with some commercial kitchen equipment in it. It was used as a "roach coach" at a mine, either in California or Arizona.

They wanted $6000 for it.

It was at the dealership next to the AIRSTREAM dealer at Southwest RV center in Irvine. It was not actually at the AIRSTREAM dealer.

Give them a call, it may still be there.

Wow...it's a beauty, it would cost 1000 to get a dull AS to shine like this one!
More pics please

hi everyone.
Thanks all of you for contributing and helping out .
Unfortunately I have found that the 26foot is too long. The trailer is to be used in England and by law, anything bigger then 22' long and 7'6'' wide has to be towed by a vehicle heavier then 3500kg . That means that we would need a lorry, since cars are tiny and light here. We dont want a lorry and all the hastle that comes with it so we have to get a smaller trailer.

I would love this Overlander for personal use and I will keep it mind, if you still have the trailer next summer, when we made loads of $$$ from the burrito's.

We are still looking for a Airstream shell:
-max 22 foot long (excluding coupling&drawbar) (7 meters long)
-max 7'66'' foot wide (2.3 meters wide)
-towable
-on the east coast of US

Cheers,
Andrej

71tradewind

if the length of the trailer from end of bumper to other end of trailer ( excluding drawbar and coupling) is less than 22'11'' and the width is less than 7'6'' than we are defenately interested in buying it. Any way you could confirm this?

would anyone know is the 26 foot on the 64 Overlander measured from bumper to end of copuling and what is the width of these trailers?

Thanx
