Nice '76 Sovereign in eastern MI

This isn't mine but is nearby and not advertised on the net.
Rear twins and side bath. ZipDee awning, aluminum LP tanks, A/C, International package. Owner says everything works fine. I gave it a quick inspection and liked what I saw.
I can furnish more info and a few pics if anyone has interest.
Asking price $6k. I think he would take $5500.

Hi Rog,

My husband and I saw a 1977 31' Sovereign on the roadside for sale in Maine, and the owner wanted $5,700. We loved the layout of the windows, the body was in good shape, but the interior needed complete replacement. We felt the asking price was too high.

Could you provide pics of the inside? Looks in very immaculate shape. We would love a unit like this. How much work is needed on the interior?

Thanks,
Gail

Hi Gail.
The interior is very clean and stylish. The only flaws I noticed were minor. There is some slight peeling of the wallpaper in the bedroom. The front sofa is missing a button.
Other notes: New water heater. I did not see any signs of leaks or water damage. No evidence of rear end droop. The vista view windows have condensation between the panes. Tires are P passenger tires and should be replaced with ST special trailer tires. No battery. No major dents or scratches. W/D hitch and owners manual included.
Here are the pics I snapped of the interior. Sorry for the poor quality. A professional photographer I am not.

WOW!!! What a beautiful unit. Can't believe that's all they are asking for that unit. The one we saw in Maine needed to be gutted. Everything was shot except for the exterior, and the asking price was the same as the unit you have posted. If we are interested, do we call the # that you posted? Is that your # or the '76 Sovereign owner? We are seriously considering a 2nd unit.

Thanks,
Gail

The phone # is the owners, John and Jan. I met them for the first time yesterday when I saw the for sale sign.
John said he would take $5800.
Happy hunting.

Be aware that is is truly a RARE coach. Notice the color of the wood. They did not make many of the "blond" wood interior coaches, seems to be a special order only thing. It is a much lighter color and looks more contemporary than the teak that most trailers of this vintage come with. Rear twins is also a boon, no worries on rear end sag.

1976 will have a Gray tank as well. It looks like a nice unit, hope it goes to a good home

johnboy,

Welcome to the forum!

Not wanting you to get your hopes up, I do believe this unit is sold. Another Forums member bought it last week. Sorry. Good luck on your search.

This 76 Sovereign is the new addition to our family.Although the interior is very nice, As a cabinet and furniture maker I'm going to have a hard time keeping my hands off of it.

Leave it alone, Jack!

Build cabinets for your workshop, garage or bedroom but not the AS. As Brett said, this is a rare trailer and who knows, you might want to resell it 50 years from now.

Oh and by the way, the 8 track player works nicely. Shop some yard sales for old tapes.

I just have one stupid question. Are units that still look that nice and shiny on the outside generally stored outside or are they stored in a pole barn?

It really is not a stupid question. This particular AS has had a sheltered life. If you truly value your AS you will build a shelter for it. Weather is our enemy.

Roger, Your right. I'm not going to touch the interior except maybe to repair anything that may need it. I like the idea that it's complete and original.
