Arrow Looking for under 21' Airstream-impossible?

I am looking for a 21' or under Airstream. Condition is not all that important but I'd have to be able to tow it to central New York State. I've looked on line and there really aren't that many sites that have anything (duh-I'm sure you all already know this) I see one on e-bay but I've never bought anything on there and something this important..well, it doesn't seem like a very good idea.

Exclamation Why?

What is the aprehension about ebay?

Just make sure you have a good dialog with the seller, get pix, ask pointed questions, etc. Then you will only be mildly surprised when you pick it up...the real shock will hit a few days later!

Seriously though, I could not find anything in the length(under 22) I wanted anywhere, I did on ebay(20ft GT)...you will pay a premium not only for this length, but you will also be bidding against people such as yourself who know what they want...I decided to bite the bullet and pay up since I found one in my own state. I factored in the shipping cost vs. the premium I paid on eBay and felt good about it. That way I could start with what I wanted even though it was in rough(er) shape than I might like.

I wouldn't worry about buying something on eBay if that is the concern...millions buy/sell there everyday.

Good luck...I am learning so much about this as I go!

2nd vote for Ebay. I have had good success there and was a little bit scard to go for anything too big, but I decided that I would use a lot of caution. I did the "Ask the Seller a Question" thing and got the guys phone number, called him and shot question after question. Ended up with a really nice bass boat almost new for about 1/3 of its value.

I would however pay attention to the sellers feedback. Make certain that he has a good amount of people that have left feedback and also that he is in at least the 98% range. Also make certain that he is a seller and not a buyer on his feedback. I wouldn't go so far with a guy that has a feedback of like 50 unless he is totally a seller.

Use your own judgement too, if it feels wrong then don't do it...............

Hi Ann,

Please check out my for sale ad in the classifieds. I am heartbroken to be selling my 1965 20' Globetrotter. Cheers!
