I read that one too.

It ain't "zen," but I think overall it's a more honest use of the Airstream - eschewing the pompous description of the zenstream, the ones in this article are by artists who don't feel they need a theme to be worthy of "art" status - even if it is filled with hubcaps and has flooring made from aluminum cans... it seems to me a more "honest" attempt at being individual.

And what is it about us artists that want even our names to be different than everyone elses? I mean, if the artists of both the trailers we've been talking about got together and had a love child... you might end up with

Franz Maxwell Buhler-rada dada Junior.

I was actually being facetious about them buying the Zensdream. I doubt they would even consider his lowest bid. I figger they can distinguish true art from fluff, bluster and pompous BS.

But forget selling it! I've got a better idea! Franzy you listening? You could charge $25 a head to give tours of your trailer. You could come up with some great title like the "Do You Feel the Zen" tour. You could let people meditate in it for 5 minutes. You could even invite Steven Segal to do seminars. Man it would be great! It would only take 1200 tours to get to your asking price. And by then it would be even MORE valuable as an antique. But I'm actually thinking when you're done you could just give it away. Gee, that has a nice ring to it...so zen like.

Huh? Whaddaya think? Do we think alike or what!

The bidding has closed and I'm I'm happy to report that being 50 and dating 20 year olds doesn't seem to have a positive effect on the value of an Airstream. The flood of last second bidding we were all “expecting” didn't materialize... The only bid that showed up at ole Franzy's auction was the bid placed by his shill living in AZ. And one legitimate bid at $5100.

just to clarify for you all

I am not Franz Buhler. I am Dave Moyer. I did not customize the airstream, I merely gave webspace to Franz for his page. He did read and enjoy this thread. I think it best that I make no further comments regarding the above content. For those of you who actually ended up looking at my paintings, I hope you enjoyed them. I'd be happy to paint the outside of your airstream for, say, $28,000?

Oh my GOD it's not even his website!!! It wasn't his cabinet work, his ebay user name, probably wasn't his big a--ed grinder, or his butterfly chairs, or his baskets from Kmart he hung on the wall, or his coffee pot, or his pepper grinder! Franz Buhler is probably not even his real name!!!

Does anybody have the guts to email him and ask him for more information on his trailer? As in, now what's he thinking of selling it for?

(i don't)

End of thread

I am going to end this thread. Not that I am stopping the banter. It is just this is the "For Sale Forum". And while I have let the topic wander from a unit for sale I am going to stop it now.

Any one is welcome to start a new thread. If you would like to continue the content of this thread, I would suggest the off topic forum or the communitty forum.

Thanks to all that have participated.
