Good Project Northern Vermont/Also Looking For Nor Cal Trailer

My search for a good small Airstream or Argosy to live in while attending a woodworking program in Nor Cal found a 23' 1972 that may be a good project for a person with more time. My notes are lost so I will post recollections. I will be where the trailer is located next week and can provide contact numbers, hull numbers, and whatever to interested parties. Contact me by email, as I access this site infrequently.

Exterior condition generally good. No apparent leaks. Unit could use a good polish, but not severely oxidized. Large dent upper streetside corner, but it looks managable. Much smaller dent curbside. No leaks in interior. All hatches in place.

Electric jack complete. Tires older; appear towable. Propane cylinders missing. Door and windows good; no broken panes. Bumpers and hitch complete. Battery gone.

Interior shabby. Appliances intact; appear functional or restorable. Cushions intact for front lounge and mid-bed. Bath complete, but in need of renovation. Headliners are good.

Carpet shabby. Tambours largely broken or missing, as are many of the interior light bezels. Unit is stinky and shows signs of uneducated use.

In contact with the owner, she claims to have "inherited" the rig when purchasing a parcel of property. Asking price is $2000, which I assume to be negotiable as the trailer has sat for over a year. Vermont does not require titles on vehicles prior to 1978; purchase could proceed on bill of sale.

*** Further examination (drove by it this evening but did not stop) leads me to think it is either not a '72 or not a 23'. It has dual axles. I paced it off earlier and came up with that number, but I just got new shoes, and my pace might be a little off. ****

If anyone has a spiffy smaller Airstream or Argosy in Northern California I would be interested. I own a very nice 1978 GMC custom MH that may be offered in trade. GMC needs details, but is on the high end and has had tens of thousands put into it in it since new. Price in 2001 was $38,000, and has had a new transmission installed since. Because of current economic downturn, I value it at $28000 USD.

Aren't we lucky, though? We meet the best people camping.

Found the Number- Update

The owner of the Airstream in the previous post is Donna Griffith, (802) 626-8246. In my conversation with her, she didn't have much knowledge of the trailer, and was simply trying to get rid of it. She lives in Lyndonville, VT, the rig is located in Burke Hollow, VT
