Hi All...
We've decided to put our
1969 Safari up for sale--as is--$3800 OBO.
We bought it a few years ago from a family friend with hopes of restoring her, but perpetual house renovations have taken precedence, not too mention that we're simply not equipped to take on such a restoration project!
We camped out for a week after we bought it, and the water, plumbing, and electric worked fine. Afterwards we took it to an RV dealer for inspection, and they claimed that everything looked fine.
It does need a new A/C (if you're in Florida!) and toilet at a minimum. The flooring around the door, front, and back by the water heater is soft and should be repaired.
The LP tanks are empty, and I've never used them. These are aluminum, and will need to be retrofitted with OPD valves, or replaced. As such, I've never used the oven/stovetop, which looks practically unused. The Dometic fridge didn't work when we bought it, and I'm not sure if it's because the LP wasn't hooked up, or if there's another problem with it.
The skin is in fairly decent shape. There are some dents, and some questionable rivets in some panels. There's a small rusted hole right under the door, next to the step. The awning was nasty and falling apart, so I took it off.
When you walk in, there's a sofa on the left, the kitchen is across from that, and the bathroom is in the back. This is quite large, BTW. The space towards the front (the right of the door) is empty. When we got it, the previous owner had pulled out the dinette and seating and replaced it with two conversion van bucket seats. I pulled these out awhile ago when I intended to put a bed there.
Please take a look at the pix and give me a holler if you want more specifics, or have any questions or comments. Note that the Jack Russell is not included with the trailer
Thanks!
Steve
