Commercial posts

I do not know what the policy is regarding commercial posts. Most forums of this type prohibit dealers from posting items for sale. If the mission statement is that RV'rs help each other then one poster is not living up to that standard. I have been looking for an Airstream or Argosy MH. Fabo fabo beat me out of one on ebay, but I have since discovered he is a quasi dealer/broker and is utilizing this forum to find customers or sources. He even had the nerve to post under one of my requests for a MH. I had a reply from someone and he posted a message for that person to contact him. This is a free world, but I feel he is operating outside the parameters of most forums.

Moisheh,
I agree with you, but only to a point.
If the forum member also is commercially affiliated with Airstream products, but offers valuable information or special offers, like Andy from InlandRV, the member offering the converters/chargers, ( his name slipped my memory for a second) , then i have not a single tiny problem if they post their offers. I consider this valuable help.
A dealer attempting to snake deals from forum members is another story. Any of the moderators getting this?

commercial posts

I could not agree with you more. If a dealer is letting forum members know that he has some hard to get parts, this is usefull info. If an individual is making or obtaining something that is of interest to some of us this is acceptable. But if a flea market gypsy is responding to items for sale. buying the stuff and reselling, imho this is wrong. Obviously this is hard to police. I was very upset when I saw this person responding to MY post . Especially when he bought one on E bay that I was about to buy. His name pops up all the time. Usually selling a MH.

Mo, Uwe,
I too have to agree to a certain extent with your concerns.
I however feel that this "For Sale & Wanted Forum" exists, it does precisely for people who are interested in buying and selling airstreams. I happen to do both. Should I be limited to only selling or buying, I am unaware of it. Moderator please advise.
I am aware that this is a fan-friendly environment. Should I be asked to remove my participation I will only if I am in violation of forum rules.
On two charges made by Mo, I will disagree.
On the ebay item that he is referring to I actually did not purchase. Feel free to contact seller and you will find out that she a Mrs Petersen had sold it locally through a consigment and was unaware of how to rescind her item. I did intend on purchasing this item because it was a day's drive away from Jim's place in Arkansas, where I bought a trailer. I actually needed a tow. . This is all fully allowable by ebay standards. Should this be frown upon by forum members I will simply become a 'guest' to this site without any contribution. This however does no service to Mo, as a guest can read of an ad placed here and then PM the seller. I really feel odd explaining this to Mo, as this is soundly Unamerican.
On the second charge, if someone is looking to sell, and there is a mutual agreement between buyer and seller, neither one should concern with the feelings of Mo. Truth be told Mo, you are moving quite slow for this market.
But once again moderator help. Send instructions to clarify.

Items for Sale

If the seller is a private party selling a personal item, that listing (post*) goes in the Parts Forum (for parts) or the For Sale / Wanted Forum. (for trailers)

If the seller is selling commercially or is a business entity selling goods or services, that listing (post*) goes in the dealer forum.

Anyone and everyone can participate as a buyer. (no matter what you may call that person.) For final use or for resale.

And anyone (and everyone is encouraged) may post* anywhere in these Forums regarding responses to threads. Contribution in the form of information is strongly encouraged.

So to recap, there are no restrictions as to buyers. Only sellers. For profit or business interests may only list for sale in the dealer forum. We have no interest or involvement on what occurs on ebay or any other website.
