I just learned from good friends that there will be a 1963 Airstream Globetrotter offered at the Annual Arrowhead Ranch Roundup Auction this Sunday, August 10, 2003. The auction begins at 10:00 a.m. and the Airstream is scheduled to be sold to the highest and best bidder (no reserve) shortly after 1:00 p.m. (immediately following the sale of a 35' boat that is also being offered). Arrowhead Ranch is a charitable organization that serves youths 12-17 who are "at-risk" located in Coal Valley, Illinois (Near Rock Island, IL and about 20 miles from Davenport, IA) where the auction will be held.
I spoke with Lane R. Hyett, the auctioneer who will be conducting the auction. He is donating his time and ALL proceeds from the auction will benefit Arrowhead Ranch. You can learn more about Arrowhead Ranch at:

When I spoke to Lane this afternoon, he gave me the following information:
The trailer has a good Illinois title that will be passed to the new owner upon payment. It is titled as a 19' travel trailer. He was uncertain as to the condition of the interior or precisely what the floorplan might be. The trailer is available for inspection at the Arrowhead Ranch at the following address:
12200 104th Street
P.O. Box 0370
Coal Valley, IL 61240-0370
For details about bidding or attending the auction, you can contact Lane R. Hyett, Auctioneer at 309-582-2663 - - this is his regular business phone where he operates a furniture store and Radio Shack franchise.
I am currently on the road and more than 400 miles away so have not personally seen this coach, and will be at the Rocky Mountain VAC Rally on the weekend when this sale is to be held. In the past, I have attended the auction where bargains are usually very good.
