25' Land Yacht for sale

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=50063

Had a chance to look at this trailer today.
Solid floor, Axles shot(- angle), tires need replacing.
All interior cabinets work and are in good shape,
All of the wall coverings are peeling off (will have to be replaced).
Refer works on AC, AC blows cold, bath has original toilet condition?
Shower looks good, lots of extra fluorescent light added to ceiling, all window latches are working all windows in great shape appears to be water tight, Water pump? control panel gages?, original radio/8 track, mid bed. Looks repairable on the inside just showing it's age, never rehabbed.
The body has one dent street side aft about 4" long and 1/8" deep not bad at all, there is a very deep scratch curb side to the right of the door about .005 to .010 deep and about 14" long.
Other than that the body is very good with the exception of peeling clear coat.
Great fixer upper for the handy man,
I would think you would have to replace the axles and tires in order to travel any great distance.

Gary,

Just curious ( as i'm in purchasing mode), How can you tell the axles are toast.

I'm trying to choose between a fixed up or fixer upper. The price on the fixed up one I was viewing just went up $1000. to 7500 US(and is located 3700 miles away). We're on Vancouver Island so geography is factoring into things.

The 1970 overlander we are looking at is 1/2 the price. I have viewed the unit. It appears to be in fair condition though refer is most probably dead and water pump system is suspect, will need new tires etc. If I knew the axles were toast or not it may be the deal breaker.

Thanks,

Ken

Gary,

Never mind I went to an 'axle thread'...

Thanks.

trout - every trailer this vintage that we've seen needs axles. But they are relatively easy to installl. The one in kennewick (e-bay lsitng) is mostly original and could be rehabbed. The body is in fairly good shape - really small dent and most importantly the floor is sound. Good luck with your hunt.

Thanks Janet,

That's kinda what I was thinking. I'm just getting a little freaked out but I'll be OK.
