If you’ve been considering buying a Classic motorhome, don’t pass this one up!!! We are purchasing a 1994 Classic 34’ Limited trailer, so we must sell our beautiful 1985 Classic 325 motorhome. You have to see this coach to believe it! It has 35,400 original miles on the Chevy P30 Air-Ride chassis and 454 engine and Allison 4spd automatic transmission. It has never been lived in, has wintered indoors, and has been meticulously maintained including recent belts, hoses, brakes, tires, cooling system flush, plugs, plug wires, transmission flush, steering stabilizer, generator tune-up with new muffler & exhaust, etc. etc. etc. All of the original owners manuals and documentation are included with this coach. It has beautiful oak cabinetry throughout, a large hide-away dining table, and a small fold-out dining table. It has a rear double bed with a Select-Comfort type air mattress, a dresser and lighted vanity mirror in the bedroom. The couch makes a double bed. It has a wine cabinet. The cockpit captain’s chairs are leather and are beautiful. Both wardrobe closets are cedar lined. It has all of the options including two roof airs, hydraulic stabilizing jacks with cockpit controls, towing package, convection microwave, ZipDee awning in new condition, 7.5 KW Onan generator with low hours, Alcoa wheels with Teflon perma-balance in each tire, Tele-tire tire pressure monitor, four burner stove top, new TV antenna with booster, new Sony detachable-face in-dash cassette stereo with graphic equalizer, new Thetford commode, new roller-film shower door, built-in counter-top blender with accessories, dedicated icemaker, and all of the other options available on these coaches. New draperies would make this coach a show-stopper. Please email or call for further info and full option and upgrade list by mail or email. Hi-res photos available by email. Smile Thanks!

We've enjoyed it greatly, and quite honestly, it is with very mixed emotions that we're selling it. I've put a lot of time and effort into getting it into a condition I am comfortable with, but I am 6'5" tall, and the island queen bed has become a very appealing feature in the 34' Limited trailer. That was the primary reason for even considering a different coach. Funny how something seemingly so small can be so significant. Thanks again for the kind words.

Boy that is one nice motorhome. I know what you mean about the bed. The double in our 34.5 is the only problem we have with it. I keep telling my husband that as we get older the bed will fit better. He is buying it for now.
It is fun to see the difference 2 feet make in the floor plan. Hope you don't have buyers regret that really is sharp.

Wink aw shucks...

Well, thanks again for the compliment. It really IS a nice one if I do say so m'self! No, I don't think I'll have buyer's remorse on the new one, it's a beauty. I think I'll have a little seller's remorse on this one tho. I sold a '61 Bambi a couple of years ago that I restored and that I probably shouldn't have sold, and I must confess to having a little twinge of seller's regret about it now and again. I expect I'll feel the same about this one. Hopefully someone who will really appreciate it and maintain it will be able to get it.

I'm 6' 1". I too worry about my feet or legs sticking off the end of these beds. I was referred to you by Alan. Do you find that you need a backup camera? Also, the rollups, would you have preferred swing doors? Sorry about the questions, but I'm looking for one that I will feel comfortable in. I also heard that if a big rig passes, anything earlier than a '90 gets pushed around.
I will continue to learn about these coaches, and I'm having fun doing this. Good luck. It's a beauty. I wish you were closer to California.

At 6'1" you may hang off the double just a little. The side closest to the center aisle isn't a problem. It's just the side closest to the roadside where the bathroom wall sorta stops your stretch! The queens in these are only 75" rather than the full 80" of a standard queen, or so I'm told. I'll know a little more firsthand after we pick up the '94 34' Limited.

Regarding the passing, I've not driven another, but I can tell you that having been in some gawd-awful sidewinds here in Iowa with this thing, it doesn't move around more than any car I've ever driven. Most full size vans move a lot more than my 325 does in the wind at speed. I wouldn't have any concerns there...

Mine has a Fresnel lens in the back window... as long as I have a straight shot to see through the back window, I'm very comfortable not having the backup camera. The problem I have with the cameras is that everything is 2D instead of 3D and it's much harder to estimate distances. I expect that there's a learning curve with them, but I'm perfectly content with the good old-fashioned back window method!

I presume by roll-ups, you mean the tambour doors on the overhead lockers... I like them. My wife prefers the oak cabinetry. I got this one... she gets her oak cabinets in the trailer. This MH is my Fifth airstream, so I'm pretty comfortable with the tambour doors. Folks who come from other brands may not agree. I think it's a matter of taste as much as anything, provided that you treat them well, they'll last almost as long as hinge and latch hardware on regular lockers.

Hope I answered your questions to your satisfaction... You CAN go wrong with an old Airstream if you don't know what to look for; I'm certainly no expert but I've learned a lot about Airstreams in the last fifteen years. You're doing well to learn as much as you can before you buy. It makes your RV dollars stretch much further if you buy a quality, well maintained coach initially; or if you choose to restore one, at least you'll know just how extensive a restoration you're getting into. Fun stuff indeed!

Thanks for your reply. I often wondered how one could see out the back by just turning their head. I guess one could use a spotter if needed. I may be traveling alone, so I guess I'll switch to Winebago (just kidding).

Allison Trans

Nice coach. Did the 4 speed Allison trans come with it from the factory, or was it added later? My '86 345 has a 454 with the Chevrolet 400 trans. The previous owners added a Gear Vendors overdrive. Do you know what model Allison it is, and if the 4th gear is overdrive? Thanks, Neal

Allison

I'm sorry, but I don't know which Allison trans ours has. It is factory, as near as I can tell, with the shifter installed on the driver's side. The 4th gear is an overdrive. I don't know how common this trans is in these, but it seems to be well suited to the drivetrain.
