1975 31' Airstream Trailer for Sale

1975 31' Airstream. This Airstream does have some light hail damage and was struck on the road side front by a neighbors tree. Salvage title. There are no leaks and it tows perfectly. We just returned from the WBCCI National Rally with it.

My wife recently replaced the carpet throughout the trailer and put linoleum in the kitchen and bathroom. It also has newer tires that have only seen one trip to DC, one to Disneyworld and the most recent trip to the national rally (about 45 miles).

Please email me (MichRX7@rx7revolution.com) for pictures of the trailer. For more information you may call 1-810-714-2509.

Sorry, I did forget to post the price on here. We are asking $5500 for the trailer.

I have also been asked a few times why we are selling it. We have only used it a couple of times in the last few years and my wife doesn't think it's a value to keep around. She'd rather pay off a few bills (hint, my RX7's) and save money to stay in a hotel when we go to DisneyWorld.

And I live in Michigan

Thanks for the reply. I like the pics, Michigan is possibly a bit far to transport as I am in Texas. Do you have any idea of transport costs? Thnaks WGD

I will try and find out this morning companies that will tow the vehicle for you. I'd also sell the Airstream along with the tow vehicle for $22,000.

The tow vehicle is a 2000 Chevy Express Conversion Van with Towing Package. The van has 51,476 miles on it. Leather power seats, captain's chairs (seats 7), flip down TV, vhs player, rear stereo, rear a/c, 12-volt vaccuum, three 12-volt outlets, low-top (to fit in the garage), Sentinal trailer braking system, power locks, etc...

What works and what does not work. Any pictures of the bathroom/shower? Hot water tank still works? What does salvage title mean? Does the refrigerator work of LP?

Has the trailer been stored inside or outside? Is this a center bath model? Any frame seperation?

Send pictures to shelinski@yahoo.com

Everything works, we just used it two weeks ago. The salvage title means my neighbor's tree dropped on it two years ago this past 4th of July during a storm and the insurance company did not want to pay for the damage. So they paid us off on the trailer and we bought it back from them.

That is why I show the pictures of the damage on the front side of the trailer. It does not leak, nor does it cause any issues with trailer functionality (towing, living in it, etc...).

Last December we spent over a week in the Airstream down at Fort Wilderness in DisneyWorld and that was over a year after the tree fell. We also spent a week in it during the WBCCI International Rally that was just in Lansing.

My father just finished up his term as the WBCCI's Internation President. For more information on WBCCI visit their website at: http://www.wbcci.org/

If you'd like to come look at the trailer, we are probably only 20-25 minutes away from you.

Also, my wife has said we can go as low as $20k for both the van and trailer. You should be able to get a loan for just the van at that amount.

So, for those of you who have contacted me about the distance, you could easily fly up here and tow the whole package home.

I wouldn't be interested in the tow vehicle although I imagine I'd have to get a WD hitch and electric brake system installed on my 03 Expedition to get the job done, (but maybe not since I don't plan on towing it much).

What are the specs as far as trailer gross weight and tongue weight? I'd only be looking to haul it to northern MI and leave it there.

I found this PDF on Airstream's website that shows all the trailer weights:
http://www.airstream.com/airstream/p.../weights-1.pdf

The 1975 Sovereign with a center bath and rear double bed weighed 4970 with a 690 hitch weight.

I'm rated for a 6000lb trailer with 600lb tongue weight without WD hitch etc. Wonder if this could make a one way 200 mile trip.

Caveat emptor

This appears to be a very nice unit but the hail/tree damage is substantial. Thus the salvage title.

Exclamation

My previous post was edited by a moderator. I repeat my offer to inspect this coach free of charge for anyone interested. The salvage title should draw a red flag but I'm willing to keep an open mind.
