1971 Overlander International Land Yacht

This Airstream is ready to hit the road. My in-laws bought it in 1971 in Wisconsin. They used it until 1994 when their health prevented them from pulling a trailer. Our family took it for a test run to Kentucky in 1998. We bought a new fridge for the trailer before that trip. In 1999 we bought the trailer and new tires and headed to Yellowstone. That's when we found out what else we had to replace. Between 1999 and 2000 my husband put in a new hot water heater, plumbing, toilet, and A/C. In 2000 the vent covers were replaced after someone broke into it. There was no other vandalism. We ripped the awning in 2001 on our way to the Grand Canyon (duct tape didn't fix it) so a new awning was purchased in 2002. My husband passed away in 2002 from cancer. I cannot handle the A/S by myself so I am looking for someone to love and take care of it.

Rear bath, middle bedroom with double bed, kitchen and living area in front. Living room couch pulls out to double bed. Includes mini-microwave, CD stereo system, spare tire, easy chair, more.

The A/S is parked on gravel at a storage facility. I can be towed back to my house to check out the systems other than electrical if you are serious about buying it.

Cared for. Good condition inside and out. Repond to this thread for more pictures. $6,000 OBO.

Length and Gross Weight of Trailer

I'm pretty sure the length is 27 feet. I'm trying to find the operator's manual which I know I've seen here in the last year, but don't know where my husband put it. So, I don't know the gross weight of the trailer off hand. Will keep searching for the operator's manual. Thanks for your questions.

Don't worry about the weight. I found it on the AirStream site.Where approxiamately in Illinois are you located? I am in Rock Island and might take a look at it if it's not too far.

Thanks,
bkempf

1971 Overlander Land Yacht Location

The trailer is stored in McHenry and I live in Crystal Lake about 10 minutes from there. That's about 170 miles from Rock Island, a 3 1/2 hour trip.

Sorry I can't manage to put together all the things I would need to do this. Looks like a nice trailer though.

Good Luck,
BK
