Hi gang,
I tried posting this in the new Classifieds, but could not find a way to post. Typical newbie!
Anyhoo, I have a 1966 29 footer that needs someone to bring it back up to snuff.
My Daddy was the second owner, & he kept it pristine. To the trailer's misfortune, I have not been a good owner, & the old girl needs to be rehabbed.
VIN # J1286034
The Airstream is located 5mi north of Toledo OH.
It has single beds located over the wheels, with canvas bunks above them
Gaucho at fore end, & drop-down table adjacent.
Rear bathroom
Condition is less than perfect, but the exterior is OK, with a 4ft long bruise / scrape on one side
The exterior clearcoat is milky
All original windows are intact
A/C was working when last used, but that was 10 years ago.
Curtains, carpet & upholstery are trashed, due to sun damage.
Tires are questionable re age
A water leak in roof caused delamination of the veneer on the partition between kitchen sink & bed.
The plastic caps re roof air vents are history
Furnace & fridge were working fine on that last outing, a decade ago.
Water supply system, as I recall, was problematical, but I cannot remember what the problem was, & whether we fixed it or not.
Bath fixtures are in very good condition, with no cracked fiberglass that I know of (I can inspect & report)
The Reese hitch is complete, & can stay with the trailer (or I can keep it, I dunno)
The aluminum interior walls / ceiling have the factory finish
The cabinet doors are still natural wood (walnut I think or maybe teak) but need refinishing.
There is a proper Airstream awning on it that has been rolled up for 10 years, so fabric condition is unknown.
The mattresses are in need of a trip to the landfill, as a dead bird was the last to use them.
Dad & I replaced with treated plywood floor beneath the bathroom.
All storage bins are intact, but a few of the plastic cabinet door retainers are broken
All exterior access panels are intact
So, are ya interested in this rolling Taj Mahal?
I can take some photos & email them to you, if you have any interest.
I am presuming the value to be $2-3k, but will take advice from the more knowledgeable.
