Could it be that since the Bay area is so expensive, that some folks around there are willing to dish out that kind of $ to live in it!? Is it me, or is there something I am missing on such Caravel? I am not trying to dismiss someone else's golden toy, but as of the last two airstream on ebay in good shape, I have seen the prices go through the roof, over 9k both of them.

The seller contacted me and said it was sold locally so it is no longer on ebay.

Some people see the Airstream mystique as very strong.
