What is with the ads in the middle of the forum posts?

Anyone else not liking the adds in the middle of the forum posts?

That seems to have just started today...
Most of the time it has a picture of an Airstream trailer, so I am not too offended...

It is not quite as bad as the ones the pop up when your mouse cursor just happens to hit it. The worst one was a Stabil ad. It was right below the quick link pull down and I would always hit it. Sometimes I have to reopen the page to get rid of it.

I noticed them on my home computer, running Chrome as my browser, but a couple of keyclicks on Ad Blocker took care of that. What annoyed me most wasn't just that it was in line with the posts, but it was the biggest ad on the page, bigger in height than the AirForums banner at the top of the page.

I haven't seen them at all on my office computer, running an older version of Internet Explorer. Haven't tried my Android tablet app to see if they're there.

I don't like them in the same columns as the posts.

What I am seeing is a shaded box between post 1 and post 2 in every thread. In that shaded box are two blue buttons. The left one is labeled "advertise here". The other is labeled "view the vendor directory".

Is that what you are talking about?

Scary thing is the ones on top and right side seem to be targeted for me, unless everyone was looking for store supplies (hangers)airfare for Ireland and Communion dresses. I think everything I search for gets tagged and shows up here. No privacy anymore.

I just went to chrome and see the ad there. I have adblocker on both IE11 and chrome.

The one on IE11 is blocked. What did you do to adblocker to get it to block the ad on chrome?

However it still leaves those stupid buttons.

I don't often block ads because I understand that sites like this need money to run, but I will block these. Far too intrusive.

My opinion is: anyone who pays the supporting membership fee, should have the option of seeing no ads.
