What is a rivet, karma etc .....

I tend to saunter in and out of these forums. Asking questions as they arise. There is such a wealth of information here and it seems some very patient helpful people, but alas.....I am blonde........deaf, dumb and blind.....and get losted easily.

Soooo What is a Rivet? Where do they come from? What is KArma? (I am not coming back as a frog thank you!) How can I reply to a post or does it always have to go at the end of the thread? Why do they still make plaid bell bottoms? Do I dare ask about IMG and vbcode?

Thank you

Amy

Rivets are awarded based on activity on the forum (number of posts).

Karma is awarded based on the number of posts you make, long threads that you started, and can be awarded or taken away by others on the forum that like or dislike your posts. Frankly, most of us pretty much ignore Karma.

Replies have to go at the end of the thread so that when folks look for additions to the thread, they know where to look. Otherwise the whole thread would have to be searched each time and some threads are a hundred or more long.

Maybe someone likes plaid bell bottoms. Who knows?

IMG permits you to include a link to a photo on a wesite, either your own or another site outside the forum.

Ignore vbcode, I do and I'm a programmer.

Amy---careful about that " coming back as a frog " thing. If you come back as a Bogfrog---well that's something else. Then you can have a Blacksmith shop, a Yellow Lab & a Bambi. Life is not all bad
Best,

Best,

Hmmm Is this a regional thing? I heard if you move to Maine its BlackLab and Jelly Shop and Landrover.........

I'll have to check this out I guess. I have a meduim sized fuzzy dog from Puerto Rico, an "on its last legs" 1990 Saab and a garden full of weeds.
Not much hope for me, huh?

Amy - have hope...since you are posting on the Forum like a pro your cup must already be half full!!! And since you have chosen an Argosy, your Karma can only be full of rainbows!!

On another, but continuing note~I remember reading WAY back somewhere that our Karma could add up to be used for some kind of exchange. Wondered where that went and what exactly the Karma numbers could be exchanged for? Anybody enlightened? Leigh
