I know that is a pet peeve but you must be a master with the search engines. I know I try from time to time and seeing a list of 20 or more threads with titles that hardly fit and having to go through all the posts in those many threads, it's a wonder that I ever find anything at all, least of all what I am really searching for.

How about we put you in charge of reference, dang you are good. Some of us try 2air really, some times.

(then again some times I like to hear myself talk.)

I know the search thing bugs some people, but I'd rather newbies go ahead and post, and then folks can (nicely) refer them to an old discussion, rather than snap at them and make them think 'wow, these guys are a bunch of jerks!'.

Remember, new folks might not be as computer saavy as those of us who've been around a while, especially on a forum dedicated to a hobby that is decidedly 'old technology'.

As for the warnings - you really have to break one of the community rules (see link at the bottom of the page) to get one, and pretty badly at that, or repeatedly and with willful disregard. We're just trying to keep this a nice, friendly place for everyone!

I actually looked under the rules and such and couldn't find anything about it or maybe I just didn't look in the right place or it is also possible that I like to see my written word for all the world to admire.

For the way things work around here, check out the 'Forum How-To's & Support' section. I have moved this thread there...with a bunch of other "How To's", "What's This?" and other FAQ's about the AirForums community.

2air, I'm all about whiners day

When Susan and I got married we divided up who got to do what.

Susan gets to bitch, moan, grip and complain, while I get to whine, whimper and pewl.

Looking forward to 12/26.......

I need to say that I too find the search function to be waste of time. It uses keywords and if they are anywhere in a thread it comes up. This all leads to a lot of reading of things that have nothing to do with what one is trying to find out. For instance I am getting ready to replace some of my floor without gutting everything. I want to "search" partial floor replacement... well up comes "it's someday and a trailer exploded and my least favorite word is..." so I am supposed read through 158 pages of that dribble to find out someone used the word "partial" on page 78... By not using the "search" function folks are giving people something to read and respond to, it allows the more knowledgeable to pass on their wisdom and insight to the ignorant in the group. The lack of using the "search" function is creating something for all of us to read. Face it, it ALL has been said before... So I say... "Say NO to the search button!"
Hope I don't get warned for such revolutionary thinking..

bingo!

http://www.airforums.com/forums/sear...earchid=872326

the above search took....35 seconds.

with another 60 it could be limited to the 4 threads with 'partial floor replacement' in the title...

SURE, it was a 'waste of my time'...

but 24 hits is not too many...

and NO game threads, blah, blah, blah!

u r welcome!

cheers

I told you he was good. We should have a sticky thread, "411 2Air" Or maybe have a time trials game thread, "Beat the Clock."

I can't wait for National Ding-a-ling Day. I do hope its a present exchange holiday. I'm making a list.
