Using the Search Function

I am having trouble searching the threads. I typed in "add battery" to find threads that had to do with adding a second battery on my trailer. It searched but returned all of the threads that were originally listed. In this area for example I typed in "search" and the same thing happened. Can you tell me how to search more effectively? Thank you.

Use the google box in the search menu and type second battery. You'll get a google search of threads on this forum and you should be able to find what you need that way.

I've had better luck randomly clicking threads, hoping to find what i was looking for.
Usually, if you enter a single word, you will get a series of threads that at least contain that one word in them. Unfortunately, most threads contain at least one mention of a "battery", hence all the threads (4500+ listed).
A Google search from outside the forums tends to give better results.

Man, can I identify with that!

I want a FIND button, I'm tired of searching.

Thanks for the suggestion. The google search worked much better, however, I am looking for to the "Find" button in the next Forum upgrade.

List me as one of those mystified/annoyed by the "search" feature. I just typed in the specific name of a thread I wanted to read and the long list of seemingly random results did not include it, at least on the 1st page- why would that specific thread NOT come up at the top of the search list??What am I doing wrong here, and how can I better find specific threads? thanks- tim

Send a message via Yahoo to Boondocker
this trick has been posted several times else where, however, it bears repeating.

From google type: site:airforums.com search term

This will use google to find the term only in airfourms pages

Can you tell me about what browser you are using? I haven't been able to duplicate any problem (other than a not so great keyword search). But if we have a glitch - we need track it down.
