It appears there may be an interesting side effect of the new forum not logging you in. The links in emails, end with goto=newpost, but clicking on them takes me to the first post on the first page of the thread. I assume because it doesn't know who you are and what's a new post for you.
Emails are also now from "Forums Forums" instead of "Forums Mailer".
Titling a window with the topic title was convenient. I could have the main ASForums page open and several threads open in various windows. Window titling on the task bar is now uniform and makes it harder to switch back and forth while working between the windows.
Notice how low the 'Active Users' number appears on the ASForums main page? That is certainly a product of the unrecognized cookie and having to sign in each time issue. Wonder what that will do for ability to sell ad links on the site?
Aargh! Just looked in Internet Explorer's history to send a link to hubby to read info in a thread when it suits him. No more subject titles appear -- just all airstreamforums title and number (of the thread, I guess). Any way for this to be fixed?
Love this forum -- that's why I send stuff for DH to read! Can you tell I love the new smilies, too?!

Nancy, you can email a link to any thread by clicking on "thread tools" in the upper blue menu bar.
The title of the thread will appear in the message as the subject. You can add notes such as "refer to post #47".

That IS a nifty tool. Thanks.
My problem is easily getting back to the one thread I was looking at the previous day and now want to forward. The thread title used to be shown in Internet Explorer's History.

The only way I can find to create a new thread is to use the "forums" tab at the top of the page. Then select the area or topic that you want to start a thread about, and the button for a "new thread" appears on this page under the "sub-forums" and above the thread list.

I think was caused by the left hand column. I will look into a fix.
