That one got in was an oversight. The list was very looooooong. By the looks of the current voting tally - it's going to be a non-issue anyway.

Good idea - I don't know about all of them, but how about rotating through the top 10ish?

That was a lot harder than I thought it was going to be! It was hard to narrow it down to just 20 choices - there were so many good ones to choose from. I was surprised and pleased that my 20 were some of the top votes getters. Do you think it will it get any easier in the next round of voting?

I had a hard time looking at the long list. I cut & pasted the list to a simple word processor instead and deleted line after line. It got down under 50 choices real fast and was down to 30 in no time. Then it got tough...

I thought the original rule was stated for 5 entries only? Did I miss a change? Ed

Ed, we asked for a maximum of 5 submissions per member. There were only a few people who submitted more and we let that be. There were 165 proposed taglines and for a quick winnowing down the voting rules yesterday morning explained that you could vote for up to 20 (see post #1 in this thread). You don't have to actually vote for 20.

There will be another round of voting in a couple weeks with details announced in a separate thread.

May I suggest that we invert the original list and take a second vote... just being scientific... the longer the list the shorter the attention span.

Average at the end of the second vote.... cull then vote again...both ways.

Yes Glen, I think we have to randomize the next round. Some good choices have been rising to the top, but it is not advisable to change the current set-up. Stay tuned...

Statistically speaking - and I hate statistics - the distribution seems about right for this vote. There does not seem to be a greater proponderance of high vote counts in the early tag line choices and there is a normal distribution of votes throughout the list with what seems to be definite pooling on the taglines of choice by the voters.

In other words - get the high 20 and scramble them up and vote again as it was laid out - use this as one big filter.

I think the voting is neat how that once your vote is cast, it always takes you to the results. I only wish I would have waited somewhat longer before voting and gave myself a longer time to view all of the entries.

My guess is some members get overwhelmed and give up after the first screen and don't scroll down..too bad, there are some good ones towards the bottom of the list too!

Hopefully, with the planned multi-tiered voting process, it will even out ~

I will take into consideration your feedback when determining where to draw the line for the entries that make it to the next round. Then we will mix them up and go through the process again. I imagine it will take 3 rounds before the list is down to a to manageable size. Each time the list will be mixed up.

Andy's post has been recycling and moving to the top of the recent posts in the last couple of days, as if it is being re-posted over and over. There have not been any posts show up after this one, even though the thread had been fairly active. Anyone know what's going on?

There was also a post tonight by crispy1 that is showing a date sometime in 2005 - I believe it is a new post, and was at the top of the recent posts list tonight.

Everytime someone votes in the poll...the thread gets bumped to the top. The last member's post shows up, even though there isn't a new post, there is activity in the thread, thus the bump.

This would be true with any poll...

Without knowing the exact thread you are talking about I can't know for sure, however, it appears that Chrispy1's last activity online was on 5/23/07...not yesterday. My guess is this was another thread with a poll and it's a similar circumstance as in this thread...does it really matter though? If so, PM me with the thread details and I can look into it further outside of this thread...
