All righty then. That worked. I will never remember how to do it again though. Guess I need to add it to my signature or something... Thanks!!

I couldn't find any infractions on my profile. I must have a good lawyer. Next time I see a mod I'm going to slug him—watch out Richard and Lynn, I know you'll be at the Balloon Fiesta. It goes in your permanent record….

Those green boxes on the Profile that show how many times someone has been thanked (roughly)—run the cursor over them and you get the aluminum status. You may have an aluminum hat (I think that is when you have 300) like Bob Sunrus (despite his infraction). I'm fully aluminated and wonder what comes after that?

You become fully aluminated at 300 thanks. It is the highest level at this time...

Hey Janet

Since this has turned into a website-how-to thread; how do I link to old threads from yesteryear to answer questions from today? It seems like the same questions surface every few years.

1. So, newbie asks a question
2. I find the answer to the same question in a thread 4 years old.
3. How do I link the answer in the old thread to the question in the new?

Just respond to the new question and add the link you found into the post. It's nice that you are willing to do this... I often see that new members are overwhelmed by the amount of info available and haven't learned their way around enough to use the (pathetic) search tool well. Even using google, you still have to know enough to craft your search query in a meaningful way. Sometimes for a new member this is just not possible.

Members helping out other members is one of the many reasons AIR ROCKS.

janet, since the google search seems to be the most productive, can that be put on top when the search box opens? i think the new folks try the forms search and usually come up short on info that is already posted.

As far as searching goes, choose "advanced search" and there are far more options available. One is "keyword" and you will find more than you want, not so well sorted, but answers are there somewhere. Or go to Forums, and choose the subforum that may have answers to the question you have. Lots of reading to do then, and more information (some great, some good, some not so good), but you can learn a lot. The search tool is not so great, but with patience some things can be found.

With time, you learn a lot just messing around and soon you become an "expert" on something.

Since for whatever reason, the onboard search function isn't that great, you can go outside to Google, click on the "advanced search" tab, enter "AIR Forums" (Airstream Trailer & Motorhome Owners Community) for the website, then enter your search criteria.
