Question for Moderators

Why was the door seal thread closed and locked? I don't like the idea that when members are exchanging hepful info and availability comments that a vendor can take exception to statements made, and let comments and insults fly. If the statements by the member are incorrect then that should be pointed out. The choice by the vendor to argue and have a running gun battle with a dissatisfied customer is not a valid reason to lock and close a useful thread. The individuals at fault should be warned. Is this not why we have a warning system in place? I may be speaking out of turn but the thread in question was not the problem. I was hoping to help other Airstream owners by pointing out the possible use of a newer door seal that I have personally found to be superior to the vintage style one available from one vendor. The part number I gave as well as the price are current per my local A/S dealer. I feel that the thread was highjacked and if the moderators would delete the arguementative statements we could have the thread put back on track. I hope no member is offended by my comments here as I just want the thread open and the information to continue to flow. Ed

The way vendors do biz I think is very much appropriate in this forum,
we both stated our views, nothing more.

That's what a forum is, an exchange of ideas, experiences & opinions.

The thread should still be there, you just can't post to it any longer. I don't believe it was deleted.

On edit: The thread has been reopened. You can post to it now.

Jim

I have a question about the information in the left side of a post or reply I made. It showed my log in name and other information, one of which was "Warn= 0%" as I recall. I clicked on the word "Warn" and it took me to a page that said I had no warnings. I was somewhat taken back about it since
I had not discussed anything controversial nor had I included any foul or suggestive language. What gives? Can anyone explain?

By the way, it showed up again on my post to this thread. Am I paranoid or am I on a leash for some reason?

Relax - you haven't done anything wrong. Check out this thread for a detailed discussion on the warn system.
