Good start! It looks compressed end-to-end. Post the name of the software you chose and I'm sure somebody will know how to make a resize stay proportional.

Yeah that was a cropped/messed up one. I think the next ones are proportional, I think.

M. Moss -- Don't think I've said I still own a '74 Argosy. Same colors too!

Those last 3 pics and your set over at http://www.airforums.com/forums/f415...tml#post475232 are still compressed side-to-side.

What software are you editing in?

If we get this straightened out I can help the original posts show corrected images.

I use the before mentioned "Gimp" a lot although it is a big program to learn. I have used it enough to really be able to create images.

A simpler program is Paint.net. It is designed to replace "Corol Photohouse" and is free. Like the "Gimp", "Paint.net" is developed by universities and is constantly updated.

They would like donations if you like their product however, but its not required.

Proportional resizing in Paint (ie, length & width kept to same proportions) is a tedious task at best -- and way to hard compared to how simple it can be. I'd recommend going back to 2air's post and downloading one of the free versions of ACDSee. The version 8.1 should be the better. ACDSee has always been highly reviewed on the photo websites; eg, Digital Photography Review. Nothing wrong with these older versions.

I'm tellin' ya...nothing could be easier than the free windows xp plugin previously aforementioned. Its just a "plug-in" to explorer....right-click>>resize picture>>pick an aspect ratio...done.

Look for a check box that says maintain aspect ratio when cropping perhaps. Only give the largest dimension and the software will fill in the other, maybe?
