Too Many Friends?
I don’t rember seeing this reported anywhere yet. When I look at a member’s profile when you Choose Show All Friends, the first 15 are shown with page links below to see the next 15, etc… When you click on any of the other page links, you are taken to the forums.
I just checked another member and it is working correctly. I observed this behavior mistral blue’s profile at http://www.airforums.com/forums/memb...lue-17802.html.

Thanks for voicing your concerns. I'll make a list of To-Do items from the feedback on this thread and get to work later this weekend. Here is a short list that I will add to:
- Remove search restriction (one search per amount of time) for all members.
- Change flashy animation of AIR Classifieds tab so it does not Flash
- Add option for Premium Members to remove the AIR Classifieds tab in the corner
- Fix the chat room
- Remove the Karma Chicklets from under the profile.
- Add photos to the home page (instead of random, have recently uploaded to encourage members to view the new photos)
- Fix Member's Google Map

Hi Andy
In reading the Questions and Bugs I am finding all kinds of features I had not known about. Most once advised of there existence I have been able to figure out but the Members Google Maps eludes me.
Can you advise?

I noticed the photos are now back in the RH portal. Thanks!
I know priorites exist, but it would be great to have the photos back on the top.
Here's an idea - Rotate the ads 90 degrees and put THEM on the right. I promise I will click on them...
Just a thought,
Tom

air classifieds
OK, the Air Classifieds pull down has really become too much. Every time I click on anything the Classifieds advertisement pulls down and blocks off 1/2 or more of the screen. It also covers up part of the log on area all of the time. I won't leave the forum because of it but I am spending much less time here. It has become very irritating to have that dratted thing flash at me every time I want to read another page. I know everyone involved is working to fix the bugs and I thank you for your efforts. Please fix this.
I am using firefox. Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9b5) Gecko/2008050509 Firefox/3.0b5

Still tweaking - they should be at the top now.

To get rid of the Airstream Classifieds feature, add the following line to your /etc/hosts file on a Mac or Linux system:
Code:
127.0.0.1 www.airstreamclassifieds.com
This file is C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts on a Windows PC.

Okay, hate me folks.... I like the classified flip down. I find myself looking at the classifieds much more than ever before. I am sure there has been a dramatic increase in the viewing of the classifieds across the board and that is why it was done. Those tracking these activities on the forum are seeing that too. Maybe if it was in the upper left corner it would offend some out there less.

Ooops--I was so happy about the portals pictures that for a little while I did not realize they are not changing. The same three pictures are there through refresh after refresh, when they should randomly rotate through the picture gallery.

The portal pictures are set to recent. Add a picture to your gallery and see it on the portal page!

I like this setting. Normally I have to force people to look at my vacation pictures.
We attended a family function near Jackson MS, and stayed at the Camp Jellystone in nearby Pellahachie. I ought to write a review on the place - its great for kids.

Ok, that should have been is working properly. Interestingly enough, the Air Classifieds animated image merely confuses Safari on my iPhone. It displays a little 3D Cube with ?s on the sides. See image.
Apparently the changes to the Karma system included eliminating the limitation of giving Karma to the same member without spreading it around. I got 2 from the same member for a topic and an image on the June Photo Contest 3 minutes apart! Thanks! Not that I object to spreading Karma around.

This arrangement is not a good idea. I can see this forcing members to add unrelated pictures just to have a change or just to fly their own flag in our face.
Random selection serves everyone.

The reason the portal photos were set to newest photos is to encourage people to post more photos. We have had a steep drop off in the number of photos being posted in the gallery. This started to happen when we could post images in the forums (if you can't remember waaaay back when the forum software did not allow for attachments) then slowly the amount of photos has been steadily declining. With the newest images on the portal page I hope people will like to see their new photos on there and get some more people uploading. This also helps our mod team see all the new photos to make sure no nasty ones slip by. Let's give it a try for a while and see how things go. If this helps increase the number of photos being uploaded great! If not, we can switch back to random.

Very interesting point. If you consider a change how about 2 new and 1 old and tickle both fancies.

Andy; I was posting pics frequently, a lot of AS pics and a few more on the personal side of life, entered the monthly snap contest a few times and have a few dark humor pics also.Added a few camping reviews etc.I thought my UAV pics of a Forum Rally at Casini were somewhat unique.I wanted to share them with fellow members that were in those pics. Share being the key word here.
THEN- I ran out of space- SO in order for me to continue to add pics I needed to UPGRADE. We all know what that means- kind of like the permit process with with the local gooberment- additional fees!
So I sent in a few bucks- after much gut wrenching thought.I even missed a few months of the monthly contest. Yes it was a small pittance but I was willing to part with the funds so I could continue down this merry path we call life.
I'm in favor of the random rotation!
Respectfully Submitted
DG

Classifieds
FYI, When I went to Contact a seller about a trailer I was told that I had to register with Airforums ???? Since I was already logged in I thought that was kinda strange.
I don't mind that classifieds tab on the upper right, but the animation it makes me twitchy.
