Fact is the NEU was going to have a private forum. Just happens it's connected to this system. Personally, I was against it being done this way but so be it. Saved alot of people alot of work. I don't like it not being under NEU ownership and control. But I'm not the one who would have been doing the work. Works for me..

Except, of course, for those who use it...as Michelle pointed out. My intention was to point out it has little impact on the forums overall....not whether it is a worthwhile feature or not.

Really? This is news to me and I guess I was under the misguided conception that I was *connected* to the latest NEU news!

well, I thought the only "use" we'd have would be for the executive board discussions...and we can still do that on the forum that Jim set up on his server. anything open to the whole unit should be in the public area of the forum. But now its been opened to the whole unit, so perhaps that ship has sailed. maybe we need to have a "face-to-face" about this issue. or at least start a discussion over on the private forum...

Over59, could you tell us a little more about the private forum plan the NEU (or at least some of the NEU) had before we got one here on ASForums. And then maybe Chuck can fill us in on who Jim is and how it is that he has a private NEU forum set up on his server, and who's using it and what they talk about. Feel free to post here if you prefer the public forum over the private one for unit-wide information.

The New England Unit Private Forum is open to EVERY regular/associate member of the NEU. So far 44 (?) signed up. I know that I should get another 30 to 40 to join as Gail and I are active in letting folks know we are here!
