New avatar sizes for contributing members
New avatars sizes are enabled for Contributing members - 120 x 120 pixels. Time for an upgrade!
Currently, contributing members and site staff have avatars that are 80 x 120 pixles wide. The addition of new social networking features is precipitating this change. Our software makes small thumbnails of your avatar that have to fit inside a certain width; when you shrink the wide screen version it actually makes your avatars look really tiny (see screen shot).
So... if you wouldn't mind, please reformat and reload your avatars. Having all avatars square will improve layout and make surfing easier on the eyes. If anyone needs help resizing an image let me know and I'll be happy to help or just post here and we'll give you a hand.

Janet, thank you for the update and how cool using Bob's as an example.

Hi Jane,
Neat! I have just the new image in mind. I'll do it this evening.

Vaughan, no images of hippos in thongs. We already did that for the thong rally...

You can load gifs, but not animated ones. You can load animated profile pics though. The only thing that has changed about avatars is the size. Allowable file formats are still the same as ever.

Dang, Terry, you’re good! How’d you know I have a photo of myself in a thong?
Oh well, I’ll just use this instead.
