My Profile picture won't show up
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong because I had no trouble uploading photos in my classified ads or in my photo gallery, but for some reason my profile picture doesn't show up. When ever I try to do it I get this:
There has been an error in the upload. Please ensure that the file has been correctly selected and that the upload has taken place successfully.
I know the image is not too large because I reduced the size a number of times.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Yes. First, make sure the photo is not already in your profile. It may be there, and that may be why you are getting an error.
Second, make sure the photo is one that the forum software will recognize as a valid file type. This happens more than you would think.
If it keeps giving you fits, you may have to get a moderator to assist you.

FWIW, I see your profile picture, but I do not see an avatar.

The maximum size for an Avatar Photo is 102 by 102 pixels...it's really, really small. Even though you have reduced it several times, double check the size, then try again...it should work. Another thought, change the name of your image, just in case it is already uploaded somewhere. Let me know via PM if you continue to have problems...I'll see if I can help from the admin side of the board.

Thanks- I will check and try some of these suggestions and get back to you. Since I am new, and at the risk of sounding stupid, but what's an Avatar? Maybe this is what I've been talking about but didn't know the name of it? What I am trying to do is get the little picture to show up under my profile name like everyone else.

THAT is your avatar.
When you click on a member's name & select "view public profile", if they have a picture loaded (like you do now) it will display along with their bio info & online status.

No problem. We have all been new at one time or another. I remember hearing that Univac, or Brainiac, or whatever that newfangled computing thing was called, was a fad that wouldn't last.
