Miss old feature

Previously (I think), there was something that kept track of the last message read in a forum and then would take you to the first unread message when re-accessed. Is that no longer available? If so, how do I activate it?

If you click on the little arrow next to the last poster name in the list it will take you to the last unread message.

I tried that and all it seems to do is take me to the last post.
