Members Photos

I am having trouble viewing members photos. They take for ever to show up. The first page of members photos do not all show and on the second page, none of the photos show. I have waited for extensive length hoping they will come up. This is the only web site I have trouble with, so do not think it is my computer. Is there a space or speed problem with the web server?

This was an ongoing issue with the members photos site. It seems to come and go, but we cannot figure out what makes it weird out. Sometimes closing the browser and restarting it will fix it for a while.

This is one of the many reasons Organic Hosting is working to implement the forum and photo site upgrade. They need to be on the same server and be running compatible versions. Look for a set of minor changes in the coming quarter.

Have you folks ever considered a "partnership" with one of the major photo sharing servers such as Webshots? They allow full 640x480 resolution, free 15MB's of storage and slideshow presentation.
Since their site is financed by advertisements, my guess is that they would welcome Airstreamforums with their 3,000+ membership, perhaps even forego the intrusive email ads to members in exchange for their banner being placed on ASF.
If such a move was feasible, Andy would be relieved of the headaches of site maintenance, etc. on the photo site and members would have an extra 13 MB's of storage.
I'm not sure that this is viable, just offering it up as food for thought.

Brett is out of the country on business. I don't know if he'll have internet access where he's staying, much less time to surf the forum. He'll be back the end of this week.

I'm sure he'll try to get back to you, but it may be a while.

I guess my Q should have been directed to Brett or any other moderator or perhaps Andy.
I enjoy the photo site very much but there is room for improvement and I just wanted to offer a suggestion.
I don't know how Andy manages to sqeeze in the time to maintain this site voluntarily but bless his heart for a job well done.
