Member contact information?
Back in January a member posted a question about the price of a 25 foot tradewind, in my area etc. Is there any way to find out contact info for a member without waiting on him to come back here to check his messages. I am spinning my wheels looking for the perverable needle in the hay stack.
I would love to be researching how to fix problems that come with and older unit (specificaly the problems I have to fix on mine) or even better yet planning the great american road trip.
So any advice out there about navigating this forum to the place I need to be or is it just not there.
thanks for being there for me
mike

Most of the time, a "PM" or private message sent to the user generates an email, even if they have threads they've created or posted to not sending them updates. Now, some people don't check their email often, or use a rarely-used email address for signing up to forums, so your mileage may vary.

If you 'left-click' on a member's name in the left hand column of any post, a drop down menu will open - swhich allows you to either send an email or private message to that member. Some members do opt-out of the email option, but everybody should have the private message capability.
You can also just go into your 'private message' mailbox area (upper right hand corner > then select 'send a new message' from the left hand column) and send a member a message by typing their member name in the 'To' box.

Thanks for the fast reply. I tried to private e-mail him but got blocked because I am a non trusted member. SPAMERs the reason posted.
So I am back to spinning wheels. Any other suggestions.
Flustration sets in.

The "private message" means of contact (see my last post) is through the AirForums bulletin board program, not normal email - although, it normally sends an email to the member to let them know there's a message there. Shouldn't send you a spam message tho...it just saves the message in their AirForums PM mailbox until they log in here next time and read it.

If I recall correctly, the system doesn't let you send PMs until you've been around for a bit. I don't know if it's a number of posts, or a length of time. A moderator would be able to offer a definitive answer.

Mike, I'm not clear from your original post whether you wanted to ask questions of the missing airforums member or whether he wanted to ask questions of you.
If you have questions, the best way to get them answered is to to to the "Forums" pull down menu (one of the gray tabs at the top of every page) and find the category that fits your question best. First look through that forum, of course, to see if your question has already been answered.
When you have a question, posts and threads with specifics in the title are likely to draw more of the expertise that you need. Detail like "Georgia campground question" and "disk brakes vs. drum brakes" will get you more helpful answers faster than "travel question" or "trailer question."
I hope to see more of you around the forum.

Another idea...
If YOU already posted to the thread, you can search all your posts to get the member's ID if you've forgotten it. Do this by clicking on your name and selecting the "find more posts by" option or going to the "searh" tab towards the top and select "view all your posts".
I suspect, this is the thread you are looking for.
If that is the right thread & WileyG is the person you are trying to contact, the fact that he too is a new member may be complicating matters somewhat based on what Janet posted:

New members have full messaging privileges right away. But they have to have set their profile to allow receipt of such messaging.

That member has set their profile to allow receipt of private messages. Nothing will necessarily occur immediately. Give that member a chance to get back online, check their messages and reply.

Wanted to say thanks to all who came to my rescue.
I retried to PM the member that was going to put his stream on the market, and it went , hopefully to him 50 miles away. At least it went somewhere.
Sorry to cause so much uproar but I would like to have an airstream to work on. Have looked at 8 in the last month. So much money with so many problems. You might think they were made of au not al and roten floor. Or the right size but rode hard and put up wet after 30 rounds Bareknuckle with Mike Tyson.
I will continue to wait for the right one. If this is it good and well if not ,,,There are more to look at.
thanks again
mike
