I have to say as I was crusing through this thread, the term "Thanks Slut" jumped off my screen, and my coffee spewed through my nose...

I guess that's not as bad as being a "Thankless" one.

regardless of what the 'give green' system is called, new folks will still have questions about it.

IF ne1 does a sticky 411 on the system.

and after covering the nuts and bolts...

THIS post by the teeeeen sista, IS without doubt,

the clearest expression of how to 'give' and enjoy the giving, that i've found searching here.

http://www.airforums.com/forums/258515-post18.html

what follows is a stylized and shortened version,

edited only to highlight the highlights (the underlined words are mine)...

I spend it gratuitously on lovely efforts in photos, great informative posts, very silly posts, and touching posts. To me, its sort of like a friendly nod or a laugh at a joke.

I surely don't expect anything in return, and honest to goodness I can't imagine having it as a goal to accumulate the points. I never did the green stamp/betty crocker points thing.

It is nice to get...because a kind word is always welcome and it makes a person feel good to know that a post had some use or meaning to someone.

The negative stuff, in my opinion is a bummer. I don't give it, and when I get it I feel bad that I offended someone...I think you can't make amends or settle things between people this way...
so when the instructions are written consider adding this 'user report' from tin' sista in the hood!

cheers

PC gone wild.

I can see that it may be easier for newbys, I disagree with the direction the thread went in apparently prompting the change.

Any chance that there was an attorney involved?

imo (which is very biased) this issue is VERY different,

and NOT motivated by 'pc' anything....

it IS simply about being aware and enlightened about 'awareness and enlightenment'

with an appreciation for others and a worldly view on the issue.

the approach we had been using and called K, wasn't k at all.

i am as politically INcorrect as is possible and as is the next chimp...

but get there by first trying to understand whatever it is that will be mocked.

Indeed, that was a wonderful explanation. I have always enjoyed the nice comments that came with it.
